Thor

Today I went to see Thor with Lena and Katie.  First, let me begin by saying the graphics, visuals, and computer generation was amazing.  The movie had many different styles within and reminded me of many different kinds of movies.  In the beginning it reminded me of Twister, then Excalibur, 300 (for the battle scenes), and the small love story reminded me of Kate & Leopold.  I felt like the love story was VERY poorly developed and there wasn't enough time devoted to believe that the two characters actually fell in love.  I also felt that Thor's demeanor changed too quickly and after he got his hammer back everything felt rushed, like it needed more time to develop.  I loved the "no-shirt" scene because man, Chris Hemsworth is hot!  I also thought the battle scenes and theatrics were pretty amazing.  The little pieces of humor made me laugh throughout the movie.  All in all, I felt like there were missing pieces, leaving the story incomplete and the movie not as amazing as it could be.  I really did appreciate and love the different styles and thought it was worth seeing.  I just think it could have been better.  On the other hand, Lena loved it so much she saw it twice, so, as always, it depends on who you talk to.
3/5 Stars (Liked it, not too bad)

Horrible Bosses

For my birthday movie I saw Horrible Bosses and when I picked it I was hoping it was going to be funny and not stupid.  As soon as the movie started I realized I definitely made the right choice!  I laughed so many times and so did my mom and husband, so it is a great movie for anyone.  If you liked The Hangover, Superbad, or Zombieland then you will love this movie.  Jennifer Aniston was so unbelievably good at her role that I think she was my favorite.  This movie has a very original plot and the cast I felt had very good chemistry.
4/5 Stars (Really liked it, pretty good)

Bridesmaids

So last week I went with Lena to finally see Bridesmaids!  I had been dying to see this movie since I saw the previews and heard that it was the girls' version of The Hangover.  Let me tell you, that was the funniest movie I have seen in a while!  I could believe most of what I was seeing as I was watching the movie.  Melissa McCarthy (Sookie from Gilmore Girls) really made the movie, in my opinion. She was so hilarious and different from any sweet adorable character I've ever seen her play before.  I highly recommend this movie!
5/5 Stars (Loved it! One of the best movies ever!)

Morning Glory

I was in the mood for a new romantic comedy tonight and on On Demand, I found Morning Glory.  I have loved Rachel McAdams since my all time favorite The Notebook, which is when she became one of my favorite actresses.  Ever since I saw the previews for this movie, I have been very anxious to see it.  Morning Glory definitely surpassed my expectations!  The cast had an amazing chemistry going on that just made me fall in love with all of the characters.  I found the movie to be funny, charming, loving, and original for today.  The movie wasn't so much about a love story as it was a story about people that work together to create something great.  I absolutely loved this movie and highly recommend it!
4.5/5 Stars (Really Liked it, pretty awesome!)

Best Sushi in Anchorage, AK

So I decided a couple of years ago to figure out who had the best sushi in Anchorage, AK.  In order to do this, I had to chose one type of sushi to try at each place so I could easily compare.  I chose the crunch roll, which has shrimp tempura and sometimes cucumber, crab, or avocado inside, tempura flakes outside and sometimes a sauce on top.  So, here is my list from best to worst according to the best of my memory.

1.  Jimmy's Sushi (by far the best sushi in town!  Every roll I order is amazing!)
2.  Sushi & Sushi (every roll I have gotten was amazing)
3.  Dami (if you don't mind a little spicy because they use a spicy mayo on top which is good.  Also keep in
mind it is connected to shady lodge)
4.  Sushi Ya (has a huge variety of different kinds of rolls)
5.  Yamito Ya (has just a little bit of sauce on top and is very fresh)
6.  Arigato (a lot like Dami's crunch roll with some spicy mayo on top)
7.  Ichiban (very fresh and good food)
8.  Peter's Sushi Spot (very fancy decor)
9.  Kansha (good sushi)
10. I luv Sushi (good)
11. Haru (they have lots of fancy types of rolls that are very good, but they are also more expensive)
12. Dish (great variety of food so it's good if your going with someone who doesn't like sushi, but I didn't
think the sushi was anything out of the ordinary)
13. Ronnie (very unique sushi, but sometimes it seems like the seaweed isn't as good (you can't take a bite of
      a roll)
14. Samurai Sushi (you cannot take a bite of a roll because of the seaweed)
15. Sushi Garden (very expensive rolls and the contents inside my crunch roll were cold, like they were pre-made)

Favorite Movies From Bollywood or Indian Cinema

About a year ago, I started watching movies from Bollywood because Netflix recommended "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."  I loved watching it so much I just continued to watch movies from Bollywood or Indian Cinema.  What I love most is the length of the movies (most are around 3 hours long) because the length allows them to fully develop the storyline and you get closer to the characters.  Anyway, here is a list of all that I have seen in order from most loved to least liked (please note that numbers 2-5 were very hard to order cause I liked them almost the same).

1.  Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (a feel good love story)
2.  Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (a cheesy love story but super cute(reminded me of a cheesy version of Grease))
3.  My Name is Khan (a good love story drama)
4.  Like Stars on Earth (a cute movie, especially for teachers)
5.  Kal Ho Naa Ho:  Tomorrow May Never Come (a very cheesy love story)
6.  Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (not my preferred outcome but still a very good movie)
7.  Veer-Zaara (cute and sweet)
8.  Devdas (Hated the ending)
